For 4 days I have had hunter green stool with severe heartburn. Pepto isnt helping. Any suggestions?
See your doc: Severe heartburn can be from several causes including reflux of stomach cintents, esophagitis (inflammation), inflammation of stomach, ulcers, gallbladder/pancreas, cardiac issues, infection. Drunk the night before then in morning drunk pepto bismul then next day dark green stool. Is that bad?
Green isn't bad: But getting drunk can be. Pepto bismol (bismuth subsalicylate) routinely turns stool a very dark green which can even look black. It can do the same to your mouth or tongue. This is totally harmless. However, drinking to where you're drunk isn't harmless, and you should consider cutting back on alcohol, especially if this is a regular occurrence. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
If I take omeprazole once a day if I get pain from GERD can I also take pepto bizmol & a watson 3202 for pain?
Does Pepto (pink liquid) reduce acid reflux? My stomach is fine, I just feel acid in my lower neck. It gets this way when I'm having a bad GERD day.
Doesn't help.: Bismuth products such as Pepto-Bismol do not help with acid reflux. You might want to consider taking antacids such as Tums (calcium carbonate) or Mylanta instead of Pepto-Bismol. Also avoiding any particular foods which cause you to have acid reflux is important. Avoiding caffeine and alcohol is important too. Good luck. ...Read more
Frequent feeling of acid in throat it burns all day long nothing help not Nexium (esomeprazole) or pepto not sure if its GERD or acid reflux have it all day long?
Maybe not GERD...: To expand on dr. Dugan's prior answer, evaluation is key to determining if your symptoms are reflux-related or not. Also, if reflux, is it acid or non-acid material that is involved? Sometimes, "sourbrash" (as you describe) may be due to pulmonary, ent, or dental issues. If unresponsive to therapeutic dosing of nexium, (esomeprazole) then start your evaluation with the gastroenterology specialist to determine rx. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
What helps indigestion? I already took pepto bismol (bismuth subsalicylate) and still feel uncomfortable right below the chest bone. No other gastro disease except gerd.
Indigestion relief: If the indigestion is due to gerd, avoiding fatty food, eating small frequent meals, and avoiding foods that make one feel worse may help to relieve symptoms. Proton pump inhibitors (ppis) such as Prilosec (omeprazole) or Nexium (esomeprazole) may help as well. Seeing a physician is recommended. If chest pain, shortness of breath or severe symptoms, go to the emergency room asap. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I have been treated for GERD. I am now experiencing back pain all over, mostly lower. I have green or loose stools and stomach pain?
Salt deficient: You are too young to have GERD. You need to take sea salt up to a one tsp a day. Build up a sweat and taste your perspiration on your upper part of your arm, if it does not taste salty then you are salt deficient. You can also do a sea salt flush to ensure saturation of sea salt in your body. ...Read more

I have bad heartburn right now I took Zantac 50 and pepto are these two together mess me up or am I ok?
Heartburn: Zantac has a fairly rapid onset of action compared to ppi's( like prilosec, nexium) used for heartburn, but that dose may be insufficient. There is no problem taking peptobismol at the same time, but Tums or maalox may be more effective. Peptobismol may cause black discoloration of your stools. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
