Foot Pain Stinging Sensation
Hard to say:
There are many causes of pain in the foot without any apparent trauma. Without knowing more about your boy's health history and getting a look at his tootsie, i'd be misleading you with any specific answers.
It's always safest and best to bring it in to a podiatrist, perhaps get an x-ray, and know for certain. Hope your boy feels better and good luck! ...Read more

L5-S1 microdiscectomy Fri for left leg sciatic pain. Calf/foot pain relief w/some thigh/behind knee pain. Pain less AM but sharp pain down left leg into foot w/pain level of 9.5 & hurts sitting/lying.
Microdiskectomy: Give it some time; sometimes simply moving the roots around can upset the lumbar plexus and give you intermittent (even quite severe) pain, although it resolves within a week or two. Getting to the disk requires mobilization of the roots and inflammatory changes from that- or the disk herniation- itself can give this pain. As long as bowel and bladder OK, hopefully this will resolve also. Best! ...Read more
Sensory Nerve Damage: The condition that you are describing relates to some type of sensory nerve damage. Do you have history of Diabetes or high blood sugar? I would recommend getting a nerve study (EMG) to possibly rule out such problem. There are medications that can help with this such as Lyrica (pregabalin) and Cymbalta. ...Read more
Right leg (on rare occasions) sharp stabbing pain initiating to the rear of thigh radiating or transmitting to the foot. Burning stinging sensation.
No bunion just stinging sensation. No diabetes so no neuropathy. Fractured big toe few months ago that foot. Having stinging sensations more lately.
Get X-ray: Big toe fractures and 'sprains ' (' turf toe') are fairly common. If your ' stinging' continues see an Orthopedic Surgeon for evaluation. If the fracture extended into the joint (as in any joint) you may be developing early arthritis. Treatment early can be fairly 'easy' w/ NSAIDs/ turf -toe liners, etc. Get an X-ray and get examined! Best of Luck! ...Read more

Pain in foot, worse with use. Had for months. Not improving Sharp pain if side outside of foot pressed. Aching all time now. What could be wrong?
Needs evaluation: I have found that there is usually a primary location of injury/inflammation. Many times we will favor the area and shift our weight. It seems that the outside of the foot ends up bearing weight causing pain there. I am imagining your primary pain to be near the ball of the foot. This can be the result a stress fracture or even perhaps a Morton's neuroma. The squeezing pain points to neuroma ...Read more

Can ACL reconstruction screw up a nerve that causes foot pain? Oct 2013 I had it done and I still get really painful sensations in the foot sometimes
ACL Surgery: It is unlikely that your intermittent foot pain has been caused by ACL reconstruction in 2013. If a nerve was damaged at the time of surgery, the symptoms would be continuous, not intermittent. Some patients can develop a condition called chronic regional pain syndrome (CRPS) after lower extremity surgery. It is more common in females with lower extremity trauma. Recommend evaluation for this ...Read more

Ankle Sprain: Well you have suffered one of the most common foot and ankle injuries. Certainly you may have some tendon/ligament injury.
