See a podiatrist: If this is a chronic problem, you have to rule out a fracture or a tendonitis, or both. You may have injured it without knowing. If you haven't already done so, i would suggest having it properly examined and get x-rays. Strained arch.: Plantar foot pain, generally , can arose from 3 areas. The ball, the arch or the heel. The arch has the largest surface area, and it's no surprise that it is also the area the patients complain about most. Sounds like a tailor: bunion. It is caused by improper footwear. It is at the base of the little toe. Usually we see this in people with a"splay foot".
