I hurt the top of my foot 2 years ago playing soccer. It is really hurting today and I had an xray but it didn't show anything.

Non-steroidal: Anti-inflammatory drugs would probably be beneficial to relieve the discomfort however further specialist evaluation by an orthopedic surgeon would be advisable. Sometimes small fractures do not show up on X-ray for a few weeks. There are other tests that can also be performed to evaluate your symptoms. Make a followup appointment. ...Read more

My son has a swollen toe and foot after playing soccer today. How can I tell if it's serious?

My son has a swollen toe and foot after playing soccer today. How can I tell if it's serious?

Bruising & incr pain: The real concern is whether or not the toe has sustained a fracture. Signs and symptoms of a fracture would be increasing swelling, bruising (broken bones bleed), and pain or crepitance (crunching sound) would all suggest possibility of a broken bone. If pain does not improve overnight, an orthoapedic evaluation may be warranted. X-rays would definitively confirm absence or presence of a fracture. ...Read more

I was playing soccer and someone stood on my foot. I don't think it's broken but it hurts everytime I walk for long periods or do any exercising?

Sounds: Like a BRUISE although a hairline or "chip" fracture cannot be ruled out without a simple xray....Since it appears that you do not wish to REST/ICE/ELEVATE perhaps you should seek the xray to know WHAT you are dealing with. A contusion (bruise will be better in 10 days to two weeks a fracture 6-8 weeks!!
BE WISE BE WELL Hope this helps

Pain in the ball of the foot every time I play soccer and also when I walk sometimes but it gets worse when I play soccer which I play with cleats?

Modify cleats: It does sound like metatarsalgia, this could happen in people with a very high arch or a very flat foot. Depending on the cleats, you can file the offending cleat (s) down 1/4in, or unscrew one or two. But it sound like you need custom foot orthotics. In the meantime an otc spenco (r) insole might help. ...Read more

Pain in lower foot arch and hamstring in both feet when jogging and playing soccer?

Pain in lower foot arch and hamstring in both feet when jogging and playing soccer?

Stretch/arch support: Depending on brands, styles cleats are often not as supportive in the arch area as a good running shoe. I would suggest placing a rigid arch support or custom orthotic in the soccer shoe, but first remove the insole so you will have more room. I would also recommend proper stretching and wrapping/taping the hamstrings before practice or a match if necessary. See a specialist if no improvement. ...Read more

Treat broken toe: If there is a suspicion of broken toe, besides ice and rest, you can consider taping the injured toe to it's neighbor, "buddy tape" Use a guaze or cotton between the toes and use bandage adhesive to secure the two together, do this for up to 6 weeks to ensure bone healing, and if the bone is not broken, just pain subside. ...Read more

Had 2 acl/meniscus surgeries. Played soccer for first time after 8.5 month recovery. Pain on top of fibula when I planted foot. No pain with squatting?

Hard to say: Many possibilities: lateral collateral ligament, posterolateral corner, lateral hamstrings all in that general area. I would make sure your surgeon is aware.
