Post op dvt: concern would be a deep venous thrombosis. go to the emergency room and have an ultrasound immediately. the presence of like swelling would depend on how effective the surgery was in relieving pressure on the nerve root. over manipulation of the nerve during surgery can irritate and cause leg swelling. Not due to surgery: Swelling of foot and ankle is not a complication of Hernia Surgery.I suggest you have your Doctor check it.
