Ankle smankle: You need to describe the location of the ankle tendonitis. Is it front, back, inside, outside painful to stand or move? What was done to confirm the diagnosis of tendonitis. If you are continuing to use the ankle is that motion now causing compensatory swelling? Or is something else really going on? Stretches do help: A fellow sufferer here, as well as several MDs in our practice. The stretches on the link below do help, you will see progressive improvement. We all had a great deal of success with them. IT CAN BE FIXED: To be clear, you had a dorsiflexory osteotomy of the 1st metatarsal, and it was raised too much? If so, the surgery is essentially reversed to drop the metatarsal down. It takes about 6-8: weeks for bone to heal. If your a triathlete then I would not recommend you returning until this time elapses to ensure complete healing. Obviously you need to work closely to the doc you are seeing who will evaluate you clinically and radiographically. ...Read more

If the leasion was within the ankle mortise and involved the talus, weight bearing can also have a bearing on the healing process. The ankle will swell for a period of time. Foot pain: Tamar fractures can occasionally be difficult to see, as can other fractures to bones in the foot/ankle. It sounds like you had a lot of fractures - the healing, along with having to change how you bear weight on that foot, may be the cause of your pain. I'd get the opinion of your orthopedic surgeon, as he/she may recommend additional imaging. ...Read more
