Can leviothyrozine and vitamin D3 pills interfere with iron absorption? What foods interfere with hypothyroidism and iron intake and should b avoided?
Can i take these vitamins together: fish oil and calcium/magnesium with vit d and prenatal vitamins?
Some: The fish oil and prenatals are fine together. Ask your doctor how much calcium and vitamin d you need based on your diet. It may be worth getting a vitamin d level. If you need to take the additional calcium, it's probably best to take it apart from the prenatals, which also usually contain calcium. ...Read more
Not much: Very few. Unsaturated plant fats may help increase HDL a little, as will small amounts of alcohol. Vitamin d is made in your skin in response to light exposure. It is found in many foods, such as dairy products, but most are supplemented. Vitamin B12 is in most animal derived products, but is hard to be deficient in unless you have chronic stomach or intestinal problems or prior GI surgery. ...Read more
If i'm taking biotin forte with zinc, but i also eat good diet with lots of beans and B vitamin foods- will this cause excess B and zinc to build up?
No: There is no worry about B vitamins "building up." The only B vitamin that our body stores is B12 and it is non-toxic. The only B vitamin known to be toxic is B6 but one usually has to take over 200 mg/day; it is impossible to get anywhere near that via diet. Zinc toxicity is not known unless one ingests at least 100 mg/day long-term. Diet levels never approach this. So no need to worry. ...Read more

I take a multivitamin plus vitamin c, d, all b's with niacin and fish oil, calcium, red yeast rice, should I take the vitamin magnesium with these & why?
I don't like it.: Truth be told, I don't like combining Niacin with the red yeast rice as they can both have toxic effects upon the liver. I hope you're having your liver blood enzyme levels monitored on that combination. Adding Magnesium to all of this is not my concern as I don't see any issue in that as long as your doses of all these other medications are not excessive. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

None: Vitamin and mineral supplements are a great way to increase the profit of vitamin and mineral supplement suppliers and makers. Unless you have a very abnormal diet, or have a specific vitamin deficiency based on your genes, you do not need this. If you think you have a deficiency, ask your Doctor to test for that. Otherwise, save your money and use it to go to the gym more often. ...Read more
