Depending on your child's medical history, you can then consider switching to whole milk until the age of 2. But again, milk is a major portion of their diet. "table foods" generally should not be introduced until at least 6 months of age (i prefer 9-12 months). ...Read more

TMJ: In some folks the joint between the jaw and the skull, the TMJ, can be unstable , and my pop out of joint with wide openings of the mouth. I'm not sure why you experience this with spicy food. 21 months don't want milk and is fussy with the food can I give multi-vit? She's very big for her age 31 lbs can I give her the one for 2 years and up?
Multi-vit: A picky eater is not unusual at this age. Children's multivitamins are ok to give but i wouldn't give the 2yo vit until she turns 2. I would still present a well balanced diet everyday, in an non-pressured environment and try to get her to take 2-3 dairy servings per day in some other form (ie: cheese, yogurt, etc..). Of course all dietary issues should be discussed with your pediatrician. ...Read more
Is it healthy for a teenager to have a big appetite? Is it wrong for a teenager to have a big appetite? My daughter is 14 years old and she eats all the time but she doesn't gain weight. She says she loves food. Is this normal. I was young too and can eat
Most : Most girls have a growth spurt between the ages of 10 to 14 years old. This is a time of growth as well as the development that comes with puberty. Your daughter may require extra calories. If she is physically active she will be burning calories faster. You can check with your doctor to see if she is in the normal weight range for a girl of her height. What is important is that she eats healthy and well balanced meals, hydrates well with water and remains physically active. One possible drawback to eating large amounts is that it can become a habit. As she gets older or if she becomes more sedentary, her caloric needs can decrease. If that happened and she continued to have a high food intake (especially if we are talking junk food); then she could experience an unhealthy weight gain. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
