I found out adding just a pinch of bicarbonate (sodium bicarbonate) of soda alkalizes 250ml of water. Would this be a safe thing to do if occasionally I ate too much acidic food?

NSU is felt to be a type of std in some circles. This may not be what you have. Would ask why you are taking Na bicarbonate (sodium bicarbonate). Make sure of what you have and see a doctor or urologist. This may well be a UTI. Get the best treatment after you have had a urine culture done.
