Avoid constipation: Hemorrhoids are exacerbated by constipation and the "pushing" necessary. Foods high in fat tend to constipate you. Foods high in fiber favor looser stools. Fruits vegetable, whole grains are excellent sources of fiber. Also, fiber only works if u are well hydrated. Drink plenty of non-caffinated, non-alcoholic fluids to keep stools soft. Don't sit for long periods on the toilet. ...Read more

Hemorrhoids worse: Constipation is what makes hemorrhoids worse, both because of straining, and because of rubbing of a hard stool. Any drug or food which causes constipation will therefore make it worse. But you can prevent this by always taking stool softeners like Colace, (docusate sodium) and eating lots of salads and drinking lots of fluids to prevent constipation. ...Read more

Antibiotic therapy: Helicobacter pylori bacteria likes our stomach acid environment. It is the leading cause of ulcers of the stomach and duodenum. Foods have no effect. Piles/ hemorrhoids also unrelated. You need to take a combination of 3 or 4 antibiotics for 2 wks to kill these bacteria. Failure to do so can cause ulcers or even cancer.
