Can i take multivitamins that contains Vit.B1 Vit.B2 Vit.B6 Vit.B12 Nicotinamide Calcium Pantothenate and Vit.C while pregnant?
Yes, however...: Every prenatal multivitamin contains all of those and more so this is definitely safe. However, the most important vitamin in a prenatal is Folic Acid (ideally as folinic acid or L-5-MTHF), esp. important in the first few weeks of pregnancy. Also eat greens and beans/lentils for folate (folic acid). ...Read more
Folic acid, AKA folate (folic acid) (vit B9), is recommended for all women wanting to get pregnant -- 0.4mg (400mcg) daily, which is important for preventing birth defects like spina bifida. Women w/ a hx these disorders should take 10x that amt daily -- 4mg (4000mcg) through the 3rd month of pregnancy. It won't affect fertility, chances of conception/twins, or periods. ...Read more
A & D- very rare: One can only overdose on fat soluble vitamins (a, d, e) except vit. B6 (which should be limited to 250 mg/day). But it takes huge amounts to overdose. The average adult would need to take about 2 million units of a to overdose, or 200, 000 iu/day for several months. Vit d toxicity is rare unless one takes at least 40, 000 iu/day for months. Partly: High homocysteine is commonly due to methylation insufficiency. Folate (folic acid) is just one cog in the machinery. Other factors include magnesium, b12, zinc, b6. Lead toxicity can impair methylation. Use the best active form of folate (folic acid) which is l-methylfolate (folic acid). ...Read more
Absolutely: Folic acid is a normal component of most prenatal vitamins. An adequate intake of Folic Acid can help prevent neural tube defects which can lead to spinal cord and nervous system problems. Stick to the recommended daily allowance (rda) on the package. NO: Vit. D is remarkably safe & sleepiness is not a known side effect. Side effects are very rare unless one takes toxic doses. I did find some reports of anxiety experienced by some after taking vit. D which is apparently a sign of magnesium deficiency remedied with magnesium. It's possible for someone to be allergic to fillers & binders in supplements so if it makes you sleepy try a different form. ...Read more

Is fefol (iron & folate (folic acid) supplement) 30 delayed release capsules suggested for anemia?
Epigenomes: Epigenetics would be the key to silencing illness in the body which might be the future of medicine. Methylation is what makes us stay young and due to cooking we lose these methylation ability. There are 4 vitamins that enhances methylation and turn on epigenomes they are 1. Choline, 2.Betaine, 3. Folic acid, 4. B12 so Folic Acid plays a major role in helping us reverse aging and stay healthy. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Hard to say: You are on two medications (Plaquinil and Gabapentin) which can be associated with side effects and thus the question whether is safe or not depends on the perspective related to risk/benefit ratio. However there is no evidence that vit A or even vit C supplements are beneficial and thus I would consider stopping these two. ...Read more
