No but important: As far as i know vitamin b6 will not help you conceive but taking Folic Acid and iron is very important. Folic acid supplements reduces the risk of birth defects in half and spina bifida (open spinal cord in the baby) by two thirds. Iron is important for the production of red blood cells in pregnancy. Folic acid and pre-natal vitamins does one need to take folic acid in addition to pre-natal vitamins, or should pre-natal vitamins suffice since it already includes folic acid?
Hello. : Hello. Prenatal vitamins are different than regular multiple vitamins in a couple of ways. They have more folic acid, calcium and iron than a regular multiple vitamin. Vitamin a levels are often reduced. Some prenatal vitamins contain folate which is in a more bioavailable form (5-methyltetrahydrofolate). Iron and Folic Acid are rich in green leafy vegetables, if you avoid them start taking them. Worth to get a nutrition consult a through your pcp.
