I have ADHD I'm 16 and I would like to know is there a way to help increase focus without increasing dosage of medication. I take focalin (dexmethylphenidate) XR 20 mg. ?
Many ways: There are many ways to increase focus. Brain training games like on Lumosity or other sites can help. Learning meditation is also effective. Does focalin (dexmethylphenidate) work better or worse or differently than the other add drugs on kids?
Same: As the drs. Said, it's the right half of the methylphenidate molecule & the dose is 1/2 that of ritalin. Focalin (dexmethylphenidate) xr's onset is 30 minutes & it lasts ~ 10 hours. Possibly: With non-fda approved supplements, it is very difficult to truly understand any medication interactions. I reviewed the lumiday website and it seems they claim balanced serotonin levels so i would be more cautious with depression or other mood disorder meds. Unlikely: There are screening tests and there are definitive tests. The screening tests can have false positives and false negatives, but the definitive tests are about 99% accurate. Methylphenidate: (original trade name ritalin) is a mixture of d- and l-methylphenidate. The d- and i- are enantiomers or molecules that are mirror images of each other.
