What is fml (fluorometholone)?

What is fml (fluorometholone)?

Fluorometholone…: Is a corticosteroid anti-inflammatory med for the eyes & eyelids. Its use should be limited as long-term use may increase intra-ocular pressure/ exacerbate glaucoma, cause cataracts, delay healing post surgery, allow fungal infections of the eyes. Chronic blepharitis: Is an incurable but treatable condition. It is often associated with rosacea. Eye pressure raised after using FML (fluorometholone) for 1 month. How long will it take for pressure to go back to normal?

Eye pressure raised after using FML (fluorometholone) for 1 month. How long will it take for pressure to go back to normal?

2 weeks: Usually the FML (fluorometholone) will be all washed out in 2 weeks. The elevated pressure is most likely a separate issue from the FML (fluorometholone) drops, but a recheck after 2 weeks will reveal if there is something else to be addressed. Some might wait a month, there is no hurry

Was using FML (fluorometholone) eye drops, Bion tears at same time for inflammed eye. Told to stop after a week, eye is no better. Can 2 eye drops be used at same time.

Yes, wait 10 min.: Yes, 2 different eye drops can be used around the same time, but wait at least 10 minutes between one dose and the next. Also, if your eye is no better after a week on the above drops you need to call your eye doctor and arrange for a follow up visit to see why you're not getting better. Do this ASAP.

How frequent can Lotemax/ FML (fluorometholone) be safely used for eye inflammation due to dryness? IOP normal. Used for 7 days 1week ago. Can use again?

How frequent can Lotemax/ FML (fluorometholone) be safely used for eye inflammation due to dryness? IOP normal. Used for 7 days 1week ago. Can use again?

To be used cautiousl: Lotemax (loteprednol) and fml are not routine treaents for dry eye syndrome except in severe cases of keratoconjunctivitis sicca. When used, careful monitoring of the eye needs to be performed by treating Eye MD. Infections, glaucoma, and cataract are among the serious complications of chronic steroid treatment. Other non steroid treatments are preferred for chronic dry eye, like Restasis, plugs, moisture goggle

Lower eyelid twitchin cause of dry eye, can be treated with fml (fluorometholone)? How long to use it? 10 days isn't bad?

Lower eyelid twitchin cause of dry eye, can be treated with fml (fluorometholone)? How long to use it? 10 days isn't bad?

Treating dry eyes: It is common to treat dry eyes temporarily to help with more acute symptoms and inflammatory changes on the eye surface. Chronically, it's better to maintain your eye health using artificial tears and a prescription eyedrop called restasis. It works very well to relieve dry eye problems. Eyelid twitching can be associated with dry eyes, but there are other possible causes as well.
