Fluttering Sensation In Upper Left Abdomen
CT Scan benefit outweigh the risk? I'm 23 with 3 CT scans already. Doctors concerned about chronic upper left abdomen pain radiating to back.
Depends: It depends on what your dr is concerned about. CT scans do provide significant radiation exposure. Some causes of left upper abdominal pain can e assessed by ultrasound or endoscopy, depending on your other symptoms and risks. If however, your doctor can provide good reason why CT scan is necessary, then it is probably worth doing. You can always seek a second opinion. ...Read more
Fluttering/twitching in upper left abdomen. No pain, similar to an eye twitch. Should I be concerned?
Cramps and vibration: The feelings of twitching is usually caused by small muscle contractions and relaxations just as in the eye. Often too small to see. That is very similar to a cramp which is the same thing but it keeps recruiting other muscle cells to contract and not relax. Try stretching your arms over your head and take deep breaths to stretch it out. You probably had minor injury which will heal. ...Read more

Not sure but best: If you get it x-rayed or CT'd if you are still concerned after a healthcare provider has examined it. Any kind of muscle or tendon strain can cause such sensation especially if you move in a certain manner or position. There is also potential hernias that can develop through the abdominal wall, or adhesions of the intestines to the abdominal wall as well. Thanks for trusting in HealthTap. ...Read more
