Do anti psychotics reduce life expectancy 10-20 years? I have used fluphenazine decanoate for 3 to 4 years ago I am 35 and need it for life.

No.: No. It is noted that schizophrenics and others who take antipsychotics have a decreased average life expectancy, but that is not due to the medications themselves. It is due to a mix of the increased smoking rate, suicide rate, and poorer health care that this population has (unfortunately).
I am glad you have found meds that work for you and I encourage you to continue.

Why take low dosage of blood pressure medication 12.5 mg of hydrochloride if my blood pressure jumped around but was never high.

Why take low dosage of blood pressure medication 12.5 mg of hydrochloride if my blood pressure jumped around but was never high.

It depends: It may actually be for your kidneys, but not highly likely. More likely, it is to lower the "peaks" of your blood pressure, so they do not get as high. If you see #s >140 / >90, then your doc is likely doing this. If not, then you should ask your doc the rationale for the med since nothing is risk-free. ...Read more
