How to reduce knees pain? and diet to increase synovial fluid .!

Knee pain

Synovial_fluid
There's no "diet" or special food to increase synovial fluid or regrow your cartilage/meniscus, for that matter. Of course, staying hydrated is always a good thing. Ideally, you should be examined to determine exact cause of knee pain. However, exercise to strengthen your thighs, eg quadriceps & biceps femoris are useful in improving general knee pain by reducing improper patellar movement.

Dr. Clarke Holmes answered:

I have swelling or fluid behind my knee. I know I have no cartilage in my knees. Should I go to an orthopedist or a rhumatologist.?

Orthopedist

Orthopedists
Unless you know you have rheumatoid arthritis or a similar condition, an orthopedist is usually best equipped to provide you with the widest range of treatment options. In the event an orthopedist instead suspected you have rheumatoid arthritis instead of osteoarthritis, then he/she could order labs to screen for this condition.

Dr. Joyce Adams answered:

My 3 year old son has fluid in his knees n was wonderin what the procedure is fore it to be drained ??

Find the cause

Extremity-joint-knee
A 3 year old child with fluid in his knees should be evaluated by a Pediatric specialist. The cause of this build up of fluid in his knees needs to be determined. If the doctor thinks there is an infection, sometimes some fluid is drawn out to see if it is infection or something else.

how do i deal with sudden swelling of the knees? MRI was noraml with the exception of fluid

Conservative first

Mri
For mild problems, you might get by with rest, ice, and wrapping your knees. If that doesn't help, or if you have fever, redness, or red streaks on your legs, these could be signs of infection, and you might need to have your knee drained by the doctor.

JRA or IRA

Juvenile_rheumatoid_arthritis
I would recommend calling her, especially is your daughter is having pain. That way you can also ask for guidelines on when to call, when to worry, and when, what and how to treat at home.

What replacement fluid for the knees seems to give most relief for the longest period of time?

Depends on the MD

Knee
there are three fluids available.: synvisc, supartz, and hyalgan. It depends on which one your doctor uses. We now have limitations as to who can give them. I used to do it but now only Ortho, in Hawaii, can give them. They have their own limitations and side effects, especially synvisc, which uses formaldehyde as the carrier, but some have done well with it. They have to be in expert's hands.
