This causes excessive fluid in your inner ear. (it isnt caused by sweat that goes from your outer ear into your inner year). Can fluid get in inner ears like it can in middle ear? If so, how does dr diagnose inner ear fluid.
Middle vs inner?: Not sure what you mean here. The ear canal is open to the outside, so every time you bath, shower, swim, are in the rain, etc, fluid can enter the ear canal. The tympanic membrane[tm]) ear drum, stops any fluid from getting into the inner ear (which some people may call the middle ear). Using an otoscope, a dr. Can tell with reasonable certainty if "fluid" is behind the tm, and decide any tx needs. ...Read more
Are there really definitive tests that show an inner ear fluid buildup that may result in dizziness as a main physical symtom?
Some: Tympanometry testing can tell if there is fluid in the middle ear, which can cause dizziness. The inner ear, however, is a little more involved to test as there are a number of tests to do to fully assess the inner ear as it is nearly impossible to access. There are different hearing and nerve tests that can be done, but i'm not sure one could definitively tell you there's fluid in the inner ear. ...Read more

I had grommets inserted when i was 5 three times and now as a adult i get sharp inner ear pain that usually last to a minute. Is this normal?
Not from the tubes: Very unlikely the ear pain you are getting has anything to do with the tubes you had as a child. Most like cause is strain of the tempromandibulr joint(tmj). Try motrin, soft diet for a week and don't chew gum, ice, etc. Try to chew opposite the side that hurts. If this doesn't work, see your physician. ...Read more
