Need biopsy: The base of these needs to be scraped and examined under the microscope for cells with inclusion bodies. Hand foot and mouth disease usually has a maculopapular rash caused by intestinal viruses of the picornaviridae family. Commonly Coxsackievirus A16 and Enterovirus 71 but these are seldom painful. Just a thought: But if a cautery was used to stop the bleeding at the tonsillar sites you may have some residual burns (blisters) Check your throat out with your ENT if these do not resolve in another week to 10 days! Hope this helps! Z Read more

If it recurs..: Get it checked. It is most likely a mucocele which forms from interruption of salivary gland drainage ducts and if it is gone now as implied there isn't much you can do. If it recurs, especially after putting something very sour like a lemon drop in your mouth, try to get it looked at before it disappears again.
