35 wk usg femalefoetus shows over distended bladder with kidneys normal amniotic fluid normal. Is there any problem, prior tiffa normal.
Baby full bladder: Most likely if the kidneys look normal and the amniotic fluid is normal, all is well. Usually we'd repeat the ultrasound again later to see if the baby emptied in the meantime or not. If there was a blockage of the urine outflow from the bladder, the amniotic fluid level would not be normal, it would be very low. ...Read more
18 week fetal US indicated enlarged bladder. Kidneys measured normal. Amniotic fluid normal. Any advice?
Full bladder US?: If the ultrasound was done with a full bladder as is usually done, then the pregnancy will distort and displace the bladder at 18 weeks, so it is difficult to say that the "bladder was enlarged". Since the amniotic fluid content is OK. As well as the fetus then "no worries" at this juncture. ...Read more

Is it concerning if I started amitiza (lubiprostone) and now have a full bladder (increased urination) every hour with no change in fluid intake?
Very unusual...: I have never heard of this side effect from the drug in question, nor is it identified in the pdr as a significant adverse reaction. Perhaps the two issues are coincidental, so that your polyuria (urinary frequency) might then deserve further medical attention (rule out uti, high blood sugar, passing stones, etc). You can also stop the Amitiza (lubiprostone) ; see if the increased urination returns to baseline. ...Read more
