Likely endometrioma: At your age, ovarian cancer would be exceedingly rare. Ca-125 levels can be elevated in young women for a variety of reasons that have nothing to do with cancer. Nasopharyngeal cancer and ovarian have no relation to each other. Your doctor should tell you what features or characteristics the ovarian cyst has, this will tell you what kind of cyst it is. Mom has stg 4 ovarian cancer with recurrence. Is now on avastin. She feels good, ascetis has gone down, however ca125 has gone from 211 to 3000. Why?
Good question: Why? It is definitely something her oncologist should be concerned about and should try to answer the question. Your mom should get some evaluation done-i.e. Some imaging studies- like ct and or pet scan to answer the question and to see whether Avastin alone perhaps is not enough. ...Read more

Since ovarian cancer is relatively uncommon, the ability of a positive test to predict ca is about 3%. There is general consensus that ca 125 is not a good screening tool for average risk females.
