2nd or 3rd opinion: No - I think it is important to try and get to the bottom of your symptoms - that would be the best way to figure out a plan to get better. Sometimes you need a 'team' of doctors and I wonder if you've seen an ID specialist? Different doctors think in different ways, and I think you need a specialist or 2 to help out. Hope your primary doc can get the ball rolling here... ...Read more

Constant flu symptoms but normal blood work, could a recent spinal tap have triggered fibromyalgia or something else?

Doubtful: I don't think a spinal tap would trigger these symptoms. Did you have the spinal because you were having headaches or other neurological symptoms? If so then I would attribute the flu-like symptoms to the illness and not the tap. Have you had your bloodwork checked? First place to start trying to feel better is your diet - cut out all "white" or processed foods; eat 5-6 small meals a day. ...Read more

It is very important that you go to your doctor or the er to get a urine culture and then most likely will need to start on antibiotics. It is also important to make sure that it is not a kidney stone or an acute kidney inflammation called glomerulonephritis. A few blood tests and urine tests can help figure out the answer. ...Read more

Flu symptoms, fever, kidney pain weeing blood for 2 days feel awful what can I do? Painkillers aren't helping.

Need to see a doctor: I would be worried about taking any over the counter pain killers except tylenol (acetaminophen) since you may have kidney disease. The blood in your urine can be from a stone and the fever could mean you have an infection from an obstruction. Alternatively you could have a glomerulonephritis (inflammation of your kidneys) from some other cause). It is important that you are evaluated. ...Read more

Possibly : Bleeding can occur when having cold but usually the bleeding is mild. If you have excessive bleeding, then you need further testing for bleeding disorder, nasal problems or even rarely cancer (e.g. Leukemia). I recommend that you get checked and get blood work done soon.. ...Read more
