Could be anything..: He needs to be further examined. He would need to have a good examination and some blood work/procedures- scan and perhaps biopsy- need to be done. Due to his age- it could be many things-from infection/inflammation to cancer-that still has to be ruled out. Although many times, cancerous lymph nodes are painless, but it can be painful too. I was told this morning by a nurse practitioner that my CT results show a Ovarian Cyst. He faxed over the results to my GYN. I’m still in pain and I need to know if I need to go to the ER or not go to work. I have also had flu like symptoms.
