Has anyone ever had a patient experience psychological or neurological symtoms from flu vaccine? (as in encephalitis, hyperactivity, insomnia, psychosis) why do some groups insist these dangers exist
I haven't: Those symptoms are possible but are very rare. Talk with your doctor about what the risk of those events are compared with the risk of coming down with the flu and experiencing a serious event from that. Some groups insist neurologic symptoms can occur because in fact they can occur, it's just that they rarely do. Docs need to discuss the pros and cons, not just emphasize one or the other. ...Read more
I get flu quite often follow by cough. Due to this I have sleepless nights. What is the solution for this?
Unusual: To get the true flu often is unusual, but getting a variety of upper respiratory colds isn't. Some people "always have it go to their chest and leave a cough", that often means they have asthma. You should get evaluated for asthma to see if that is your problem, it needs to be treated if it is. Go to your doctor to be evaluated, or to an allergist for further evaluation. ...Read more

It sounds as though you've done everything you can do and it's time for your child to be re-evaluated by a physician for her illness. Even though fever is most commonly caused by infections which are not serious, a fever that continues with an unknown source for longer than 4 or 5 days is concerning and needs to be looked into further for a cause. Sometimes as the illness progresses, signs and symptoms that weren't there before start to appear and can help doctors figure out what is going on and what treatments may be helpful. Another reason to take your child back in for evaluation is that she is not eating or drinking and may be dehydrated. In general, other "red flag" reasons to call your doctor or go to the er when your child has a fever are: your child is under 2 months old, uncontrolable fever, worsening or new symptoms, seizure, purple rash, change in consciousness, difficulty or rapid breathing, persistent headache, vomiting, or any other serious concerns you may have.

Went to a bonfire, got dozens of bug bites, unable to sleep and have fever, what can I do for relief??
Fever?: If your body temperature is over 100 degree F for no other reasons (not just a feeling of fever), the bites might have been infected since bug bites are not usually associated with a fever. (West Nile fever is a problem in many parts of the country from mosquito bites) If you truly have a fever, you need to see a doctor now. If not, then they will likely subside unless you see pus forming. ...Read more

What is pre teething? Can teething symptoms appear in a 10 week old? We have chewing, drooling, rubbing her face in her sleep, not sleeping well, etc. With no fever.
Of course: Your teeth just don't pop out of you gums like pop tarts out of the toaster. They have to cut their way through virgin gums that have never been cut through before. Your adult teeth don't do this because a path is already there. However, when baby's first teeth are coming in, there are weeks if not months of cutting through those gums, which includes the drooling, fussy etc etc. ...Read more
