Flu Came Back
Body aches/diarrhea/no fever. Saw md this am, got steroid shot. Flu&strep came back negative. Could this be contagious? I have a 7mo old at home!
Cannot diagnose: Without knowing exactly what you had there is no way to know whether or not it is communicable to your baby, but it would probably be too late by now anyway. Hope the baby stays well and that you clear up quickly. ...Read more
My husband has been running a low grade fever of about 100 to 100.3 for about 3 days no respitory stuff or sore throat, walk-in clinic did flu test came back neg, he has miner body aches what could this be?
Can a flu shot lower WBCs? Had a CBC 2 days after flu shot. WBCs came back lower than normal (mine are already low).
It is possible.
Will strongly advise you to look into the reasons for low
WBCs- toxins, side effects of medications, etc.
Together with clearing the reasons for that I would advise you to take some herbs to strengthen your immune system and stimulate the bone marrow.

Hi Doctor, On Tuesday night I had a rapid onset of flu-like symptoms. I saw my doctor who did a swab test for the flu, and it came back negative. I wa?
Might be false neg: A swab test result is not something "you can take to the bank". The answer to your question lies in the physical findings & more history of your complaints. Please check back with your physician as soon as you can. "Flu like" symptoms are too vague and needs followup. ...Read more

I was diagnosed with the flu. Yet the test came back negative. I have a fever of over 100, aches, chills, bloody mucus, soar throat. Is this the flu?
Influenza: This illness is caused by a virus and it can be simulated by other viruses like parainfluenza, adenovirus, enteroviruses, and so on. Do not know what test was done and whether it has a high false negative frequency, but it does sound like you have a flu-like illness for which antibiotics are unnecessary. ...Read more
Was in the ER with the flu doc said potassium came back one point lower then what they like im scared now what's that mean?
Low potassium: Pt's with low potassium (K) levels are normally on diuretics, you are not. In the absence of vomiting, which will also lower K, go to a physician and have your blood magnesium (M) checked. A low M level can commonly cause low K levels which will not be corrected until the M is back to normal. If your K was so low in the ER, did you receive any K there and what did the ER physician say about it? ...Read more

See below: If you are referring to the present scare, this reported flu strain has only been associated with pig to human transmission, not human to human transfer. It is also a mild strain and no one has died and only 2 have needed hospitalization. What I would like to point out here is the "news press" and it's affinity to blow things out of proportion and only report what will get ratings. Talk to docs. ...Read more

Not uncommon: Viral infections frequently cause muscle pain.Usually helped by NSAIDs like Ibuprofen.Coughing can knock ribs out of whack (upper back pain) or lying down a long time can result in low back pain from muscle spasm/vertebral twists, etc. If pain is more severe, not relieved by NSAIDs, or is persistent, a good osteopathic history & exam might find the cause.
