Flonase In Eye
I am taking regular allegra (fexofenadine) 24 hours along with flonase and eye drops. Not getting much relief....is it safe to also take zyrtec d or sudafed d?
It is safe to take: sudafed, but not zyrtec and allegra (fexofenadine) together-only 1 or the other. I would try zyrtec, it is stronger than allegra (fexofenadine). No decongestants if you have high blood pressure. No zyrtec D and sudafed together, as they both contain decongestants. Use zyrtec plain. ...Read more

I've been taking Flonase for a week my eyes keep twitching is there a connection? What are possible reasons for eye twitching?
Eye twitching: I'm an ENT and I've never heard of nasal steroid spray causing this, but that doesn't mean it's not possible - just very unlikely. Eye twitching can be due to nervousness, vitamin or mineral deficiency (like calcium or Vit. D), nervous tic, 'blepharospasm,' or a neurologic condition. It might just be transient spasms that go away without good reason. A neurologist can resolve it. ...Read more
Was on Flonase for a week then decided to do it every other day. Now experiencing severe anxiety, nausea and dry eyes? Are these connected?
Can Flonase cause a floater in your eye?. Or is allergies more likely the cause of it?. I've just started having issues with allergies this year.
Not expected: A few small floaters may be ok but if you are noticing new ones popping up or large ones coming on, you need to call your eye doctor immediately. Allergy per se is not associated with floaters and unless you have overdosed on Flonase, systemic effect is not expected. If you have high myopia and are noticing floaters, an eye exam is also called for ASAP. ...Read more

My daughter has yellow gook in her eyes and they are also watery. She does have allergies which she takes Flonase and an inhaler for! is the yellow discharge caused by allergies as welll? And if so what can I give her?
Antihistamine: Although discharge from allergies is usually clear/watery, there can be some yellow/thicker appearance to it. Both eyes is more suggestive of allergy than infection. Consider over the counter antihistamine like zyrtec or Claritin (loratadine) for children. If it worsens, or the lids are matted together then an antibiotic drop may be needed. If the allergies cont. To bother, antihistamine drops can be rx'd. ...Read more
My doctor has me taking Flonase 2x a day dimetapp every 4 hrs and Zyrtec (cetirizine) 1x day. I'm still havin itchy eyes and coughing? What else can I take or do?
Why even on routine of Allegra (fexofenadine) and Flonase are itchy eyes harder to treat than any other hay fever symptom? Do I need RX eye drops?
Conjunctivitis: Everyone responds to allergies differently, but persistent eye symptoms refactory to over-the-counter eyedrops might benefit from a prescription grade preparation. Make sure that you are practicing good avoidance measures, avoiding overuse of contacts when eyes are irritated, and washing eyes out with preservative-free drops. If you have persistent symptoms see an Allergist for further workup. ...Read more

Is it safe to take Claritin-D, Flonase & motrin for sinusitis symptoms? Congestion in 1 nostril w/ head/ear/jaw/behind eye ache for 2 weeks.
Ocular Hypertension?: If you have eye pain, the Flonase (fluticasone propionate), an intranasal steroid, might be causing a steroid responsive intraocular pressure elevation and risk for glaucomatous optic atrophy plus the risk for cataract. Have your eye pressure checked with and without Flonase use, and get a baseline visual field study if you must use intranasal steroids on a chronic basis. ...Read more

Sinus inflammation: If your chronic headaches are related to the MRI result suggestive of sinus inflammation (it is not a sure thing, the MRI is not diagnostic in your case), then flonase is not likely to be of much benefit in the short term. Ask to see an Allergist or ENT for better plan to obtain more immediate relief. ...Read more

Sinus is only mild: Headache pain from sinus obstruction can be associated with acute sinusitis +/- allergic nasal inflammation that worsens with barometric pressure from weather changes. Such discomfort responds easily to decongestants and is rarely moderate or severe; in such cases look for other causes: neck strain, eye issues, variation of migraine or tension headaches, etc. A brain Ct or MRI may be indicated. ...Read more

All about the same: All of the topical steroids have about equal efficacy (activity) and safety.
