? Need to see ENT: For assessment of your upper airways, middle ears are considered part of sinuses, you may also have Eustachian tube dysfunction, check with your doctor who may refer you to an ENT, meanwhile, if you haven't already done so, saline nasal washes can definitely help if done consistently everyday, good luck ...Read more

My allergies are really bothering me I'm on pataday Flonase Claritin (loratadine) and take weekly allergy shots medications don't work I've taken everything else?

Re-evaluation: if you are on all those medicines, regular and not benefiting, so you need to be reevaluated, medicines don't work equally for all patients, doses might need to be modified or prescribed different meds, most important is adherence to treatment plan, good luck ...Read more

Not the right meds: this regimen may be adequate to treat mild to moderate nasal/sinus inflammation, but you are describing a more complicated issue. An evaluation to identify cause is warranted,;and necessary to guide a targeted treatment strategy that may consist of prescription medication to decongest, relieve inflammation, or treat infection. A structural sinus problem may require surgical correction. ...Read more

Can I take loratadine before taking azelastine and flonase?

Unnecessary.: Azelastine is an antihistamine, just like Loratidine. So I don't think you'd need the both. The two nasal sprays should be sufficient to control your symptoms. ...Read more

Nyquil, which one?: most nyquil preparations contain antihistaminic, some contain a decongestant, no harm of taking them together, but better hold the claritin (loratadine) d, which contains both an antihistaminic and a decongestant, until done with the nyquil, keep the flonase, mind you, if no improvement better see / call your doctor ...Read more

If allergic to a male non-neutered dog, can a resp treatment a day help keep lungs clear, once they get clear. Taking Claritin (loratadine) singular flonase?

Unlikely: If a person is allergic to pet dander, continued exposure will likely result in some persistence of symptoms. The symptoms may be improved by antihistamines, steroids and leukotriene modifiers. If a person intends on keeping the pet, allergy injections are likely the best long term treatment. ...Read more

My allergies are unbearable today.. I take Zyrtec and Flonase daily and they did nothing. I took Allegra too with no relief, can I also take Claritin (loratadine)?

You can, but: It is unlikely to add additional coverage after taking both Zyrtec and Allegra (fexofenadine). It is important to understand that blocking histamine receptors is not a cure-all for allergy. There are many potential symptoms that may be driving you crazy and knowing more about them will help a physician to recommend short term therapy for short term relief. See Allergist and consider virtual consult if needed. ...Read more

I take flonase and allergra for seasonal allergies, and that usually controls it. Today it is not. Can I take allegra, claritin, or benadryl?

Allergy treatment: If taking Allegra already you should not double up on a long acting antihistamine (Allegra, Claritin, Zyrtec). This can cause heart issues.
Intra-nasal steroids (Flonase) should be used routinely. Adding Allegra is fine on an-needed basis. Adding short acting (Benadryl) is ok but indicates need for better preventive care (environmental controls, more consistent Flonase use, allergy shots). ...Read more

I took Sudafed, Flonase and Afrin (oxymetazoline) but getting no relief for allergy congestion, can I take Claritin on top of the other meds?

Afrin (oxymetazoline)?: You need to see an expert to determine the cause of the congestion and confirm that it is related to allergy. If you have been taking Afrin (oxymetazoline) for more than 5 days consecutively, then the persistent congestion is most likely now caused by the Afrin (oxymetazoline) (it causes sensitization and "rebound congestion"). Claritin can be added safely, but it may not be effective if underlying issue not addressed ...Read more
