Floating Stools For Last 2 Months
Flat stools for about 2 years. Sometimes loose stools. About every 2 weeks they're loose. Am I ok?
Colonoscopy: You have reached an age in which beginning routine colonoscopy every five years may be indicated. Discuss with your family doctor. The intermittant loose stools could be due to numerous issues, and would need more info and stool exam to tell whether further evaluation is indicated. See your doctor, and good luck. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
C diff 4 months ago but confirmed gone 2 weeks ago. Still having pain, loose mucous stool..seen blood 2x in last 24 hrs...waiting for GI referral.
Recurring C. diff: C diff is a tricky disease. Even though u tested negative 2 weeks ago I'm not sure I trust that test given you just had it and u have similar symptoms to before. Often there is antibiotic use that causes the relapse - so u have to be very careful about taking any further antibiotics. Only if absolutely needed!! Good if u will see a GI doc or ID specialist because those are the experts in this dz. ...Read more

Im 29. Gallbladder removed 2 months ago. Bouts of nausea, bright yellow stool, and lost 8 lbs. Was 115 now 107. Sometimes no appetite. Advice? Normal?
GB. Nausea: Your symptoms of nausea after gb surgery imply either a postop problem or a second condition. Your yellow stools may be related to the altered bile circulation which should improve. Stones in the bile duct usually cause gray (acholic) stools. At the least, i would consider liver function tests and an ultrasound. Probably best to call your doc. ...Read more
Lost 15 pounds in three months going low carb. Stools light/tan/yellowish last few weeks. Ct scan 2 weeks ago normal. 25 years old. Do I have cancer?
I have had very loose stools for 2 weeks with right abdo discomfort. Off my food. Bloods ok, stool results normal. Scan nxt wk. advice? Cancer?
Get scan - see doc.: Lots of things can cause this. Cancer does not jump to the top of my mind especially if there was no blood in your stool. One must certainly consider many other things. I suspect your doc is on top of this. I assume that your stool was checked for all the right things...... Endoscopy may be in your future. ...Read more
My 2 yr old son was constipated for two days then runny for 2 and soft for the last 2. No complaints of pain or diet change. Concern? Happens occasion
Bowels vary: Bowel transit time can vary from day to day. If things are moving through slower, stools get harder. If things move through faster, stools softer. Things besides diet can affect transit time - even how active the little guy was on a particular day. Make sure he gets plenty of fluids during the day, including water, and if it's hot out, make sure he gets more. Eat fiber and lots of play time! ...Read more

Normal egd w/ biopsy 6 months ago. Gallbladder removed 2 months ago. Still have bouts of burping after eating sometimes. Is this normal?
I am 19 wks preg. Had diarrhea for 2 days and cramping in the upper right abdominal quadrant. For the last 2 days, stool has been pale/whitish.
Diarrhea: Keep watch - the diarrhea seems innocent and likely reflects either a food incompatibility or biliary change or a virus. RUQ discomfort may reflect a gall bladder process. If escalates, get checked. Be sure you keep well hydrated - water, gatorade are ok. Minimize caffeine now. Minimize milk for now. Notify your OB if persists. ...Read more
Baby had 2 month vaccines 2 days ago. His stools are darker in color today almost yellow green. Is that normal?
Normal variation: The color of poo is derived from the waste pigment that end up in the bile, which is added to the intestines from the liver. It starts out an intense green & over time may change thru yellow to brown. The germs of the intestine convert the pigment as it transits the digestive tract. The less germ action the less color change.Loose stools are often a greenish color for this reason. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Saw GE for bloody diarrhea x15 days, said infection. everything fine for a couple weeks, but bloody diarrhea started back up 2 days ago& now constipat?
Go back to GI: Bloody diarrhea for 2 weeks maybe infectious but need to rule out if you have other forms of colitis not just infection related. Part of the work up is having stool studies to confirm or deny that it is an infection. Its important to see if you've lost weight, or anemic. Go back and see the specialist. When patients don't come back, we assume that they're all better. You're not, so see them back. ...Read more
Vomited 6 days ago with last vomit black water. Clay coloured stools since. Dr. Says virus and stress. How long before stools return to normal ?
Go see GI doc: Clay colored stool suggests liver damage, specifically blockage of biliary tract. This can cause skin & eyes to turn yellow plus urine to be dark cola color.
