1-must wear straight shoe lasts for overpronation & flat feet? 2-can sneakers have mesh and leather tops?
??: Not so much a straight last as much as a last of some kind / cheaper shoes may look ok but if you can bend the shoe easily at the heel-forefoot junction then this is not a good shoe for you a good shoe with a last coupled with a good otc or custom made orthotic is the ticket as long as the construction is of reasonable quality what the upper is made from is not too much of an issue. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Flexible high arch runner. Stability shoes caused arch to collapse, feet to evert, numbness 1st web space, and anterior hip rotation. Reversable?
Possibly: I would not think that 3 small screws in a metacarpal bone would set off metal detectors but they could with the advances in scanning technology at airports. If you have any documentation relating to the surgery you received that could be helpful. If not I am sure they would just use a wand scanner to focus on areas of concern and only your hand should trigger a positive response. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Broken fibula & tibia in 99. Leg length discrepancy of 1.5" but only tibia is short. Fibula bowing. Problems feet up. Pursue Taylor spatial frame?
Other options?: You're 30 and no longer growing, problem won't get worse. A 3/4" heel lift on your shorter leg may resolve most issues. If not, surgery to lengthen the short tibia with external device is possible but results may not be worth the effort to get there. You really need to discuss with orthopedics your current issues with shorter leg and if they will resolve with surgery. ...Read more
