This is safe ; available for anyone over 2, ;assumes normal GI anatomy without inflammation, stenosis, extrinsic or instrinsic obstruction. But change in bowels is a "red flag" that needs evaluation if persists. ...Read more

I used 1/2 bottle of premade Fleet MINERAL OIL ENEMA. First time. It said to FOLLOW it with a regular SALINE FLEET ENEMA AFTER, to help pass stool & clean out the oil. It's VERY OILY! CAN I USE A 2ND SALINE TO CLEAN THE OIL better just this one time?

My son 18yrs old with bloody stools. He was schedule for a sigmoidoscopy.,using fleet enema (sodium bisphosphate). He don't want to go through this. What's the alternative?

That said, they may be willing to do so if the patient does a significant bowel prep using a bottle of magnesium citrate or similar agent. I would call the center and see. The exam is worthless unless the fecal material is removed and the colon can be seen. ...Read more
I toke two laxative two night ago an yesterday i felt sick so did a fleet enema (sodium bisphosphate) an it only got small amount out i stay constipated?
Constipation: Not sure what laxative you used. Normally, i would recommend the patient to have adequate hydration, stay active with exercising, eat high fiber diet. In addition, add fiber supplement such as citrucel (one table spoon in 8 oz of water daily). If the above is not improved, add MiraLAX (otc, one table spoon in 8 oz of water, daily to bid). Other agents are linzess, amitiza (lubiprostone). Work close with drs. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I just started accutane. I have really bad constipation I think its unrelated to accutane. Is it okay to use a laxative or fleet enema (sodium bisphosphate) with this drug?
Yes, but lower dose: Docusate (doss) is safe for children and it has pediatric dosing tables; do not give a child an adult dose. I would check the medication insert or online at doss's site for this to most accurately dose for pediatrics. Otherwise, it is safe for use in children and I have given my daughter pediatric docusate before. I hope this helps! ...Read more
