No I don't take Dulcolax continually I take it 3 times a week and started since two weeks was under medication but no use nothing chaged + I walk dai?

Try a stimulant: I like a stimulant plus a stool softener, e.g. Peri-colace. Not sure why you are taking a laxative. Symptoms like these are best determined by a thorough evaluation by your physician. Based on the findings, a treatment plan can be developed to help you. ...Read more

Is it okay to take dulcolax while on amoxicillin, it's the talc in the medication safe to consume?

Is it okay to take dulcolax while on amoxicillin, it's the talc in the medication safe to consume?

Stool softener: Dulcolax is a stool softener. Some antibiotics, like amoxicillin, can cause diarrhea. I would not recommend taking them both. If there is talc, in a commercial medical product, I think it would be safe to use. You may want to consult your primary care physician regarding both. ...Read more

I need the best medication for chronic constipation, tried movicol and dulcolax, they are not helping.

I need the best medication for chronic constipation, tried movicol and dulcolax, they are not helping.

No other disease?: Each person with constipation needs to be sure there is no other disease causing it. If constipation is just due to slow movement of the food and poop through the gut, then the things to try are vegetables, water, prune juice, prunes, fiber plus water, Miralax (polyethylene glycol) Senokot or other senna, milk of magnesia, etc... A doctor can evaluate, and might prescribe Amitiza or Linzess. ...Read more

Can I take valium, synthroid, (thyroxine) and percocet with Dulcolax sensitive stomache for women for constipation? I am afraid to mix and I only this laxative available and I have not defecated pain medication.

Can I take valium, synthroid, (thyroxine) and percocet with Dulcolax sensitive stomache for women for constipation? I am afraid to mix and I only this laxative available and I have not defecated pain medication.

Yes: However, am concerned about combination of valium and percocet. Both are sedating and can mix in a deadly cocktail. Very worrisome.
Percocet is the cause of constipation--any way to cut back or talk to doctor about alternative pain control measures? Increase fluids, fiber, consider MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) which is gentle and effective too. Dulcolax tends to cause cramping; less so with miralax (polyethylene glycol). ...Read more

Took 3 Dulcolax but nothing happened? What do I do?

Hydrate, hydrate: Stay well hydrated (at least 8 - 8 ounces glasses of water per day). Try to get in 5 servings of vegetables and 4 servings of fruit per day – get that fiber in. Stay physically active if possible. There are a number of over the counter laxatives that can be taken orally to help pass retained fecal matter. Hi, is it ok if I will take Dulcolax once a week or every sunday?

Not harmful but why?: Why would you take Dulcolax once a week and why on sunday? Dulcolax is a stimulant laxative which should only be used for significant constipation, when other means (hydration, fiber, stool softeners) haven't worked. Overuse (much more frequently than once a week) can be dangerous. Are you taking more than 1 tablet? ...Read more

Is it ok to take 5 Dulcolax tablets, 2-1 tablet every couple of hours per day?

Um, way noooo.: It's a bowel stimulant. You don't want your gut to spasm. Will be painful. If you are that constipated, attack it from a different angle: Aggressive hydration 64oz or 1.9L water per 24 hours, fiber (with water or can be constipating) fruits, veggies, lentils, whole grains, low fat yogurt with live active cultures. If trying to flush everything out (like for weight loss) same goes. Plus enemas. ...Read more

I took Dulcolax for 9 days because I didn't know it said to not take it for more than a week. Might something bad happen?

I go to the toilet once a month and when I do go it's only pebbles. I use Dulcolax and they help sometimes. What is wrong?

Gastroneurologist: If you truly are only passing stools less than once a month, you need to be evaluated by a gastroenterologist. Even without this problem, you should have a colonoscopy since you are above age 50, but you may need other tests in addition. You can eat more fiber in the meantime. This is important. Do not delay seeking a gastroenterology appointment. Good luck. ...Read more
