Unique question: This is not a normal situation for those of us who work in american medicine. Most hernia surgeries are done laparoscopically and there is little to no post operative pain or problems. I would bet, however, that your surgeon gave you post op instructions that should answer your question. If they did not this is a question to direct to your surgeon. ...Read more

Sounds like: it could be either a lipoma or a hernia. In either case your doctor should be able to examine you and make the correct diagnosis so that it can be properly treated especially since you are having pain with it. ...Read more

This can take a few weeks to several months to resolved on it's own. Signs you should look out for after surgery are fevers, chills, night sweats, new pain, redness around your incision or pus from your wound.
