I have had only yellow stools for a month my other symptom is constant restless I am 16 and am worried I have life threatening what's a common cause?

Liver stuff?: Hi, Bradley. First of all, don't panic, ok? I really doubt this is life threatening. But u do need to get seen. I'm wondering about your liver. The liver makes bile, which can make the feces yellow or green. Something may be going on with the liver or gallbladder. You need blood labs and maybe a picture of the liver (ultrasound, CT, etc). Had lunch with fried chicken, wings was slightly black burned. When I poop, my stool color was black. Is it caused by chicken? No any other symptom.

Unlikely: Generally, black and tarry stools happen when there is cause of upper GI bleed. Here the hemoglobin undergoes chemical reaction leading to change in color. A common cause for this is ulcers. They can be caused by medications (advil (ibuprofen) or motrin) or infections (H. pylori). For now, I would suggest monitoring for other symptoms. It may be absolutely nothing because you have no other symptoms. ...Read more
