Liver stuff?: Hi, Bradley. First of all, don't panic, ok? I really doubt this is life threatening. But u do need to get seen. I'm wondering about your liver. Had lunch with fried chicken, wings was slightly black burned. When I poop, my stool color was black. Is it caused by chicken? No any other symptom.
Unlikely: Generally, black and tarry stools happen when there is cause of upper GI bleed. Here the hemoglobin undergoes chemical reaction leading to change in color. A common cause for this is ulcers. They can be caused by medications (advil (ibuprofen) or motrin) or infections (H. pylori). For now, I would suggest monitoring for other symptoms. It may be absolutely nothing because you have no other symptoms. ...Read more

Would mucus in stool that comes and goes for a bit every few months be a symptom of colon cancer? No other symptoms. No blood that can see.
Mucus is not suggestive of cancer. Unless you have family history of early onset colon cancer, you may wait till you are 50-years old to get a screening colonoscopy.
If you are concerned you may do FIT testing to test for occult blood in stool. If that is positive, you should see a doctor.
Wish you good health.
