It has also been noted to cause prostate cancer. It is true that it lowers triglycerides and raises HDL but it has not lowered the risk for strokes or heart attacks. Doubtful.: The studies done on evening primrose oil treatment for eczema have been inconclusive. In other words, no consistent benefit has been shown, and given that it can cause headache, indigestion, nausea, diarrhea, and pregnancy complications, i wouldn't recommend it. Pregnancy-safe oils: Castor oil and sweet almond oil may bring on early labor, if used earlier than term. Coconut oil and olive oil are safe in pregnancy. Topical vitamin E oil is felt to be safe, but may cause contact dermatitis in some people, as can topical aloe vera. Not alone: Almond oil alone isn't an exfoliant which "removes dead skin cells" that requires the addition of either an acid(like glycolic or alpha hydroxy which chemically remove cells) or mechanical means(like sugar, salt, walnut shell).
