No.: Pregnancy cannot, per se, cause herpes; but if the man who impregnated you has genital herpes, he could have infected you at the same time he got you pregnant. The first step is to get tested, and make sure you actually have herpes before trying to figure out what (or who) caused it. ...Read more
I'm positive I don't have any std's. So could itching around opening of vagina and burning urination be signs of a yeast infection?
2-12 days: An HSV outbreak can start 2-12 days after exposure. The average is about 4-5 days. The belly is not a common location for the blisters. Blisters on the belly can be shingles, rather than HSV2. The best way to know what they are is to have them tested for HSV 1 and 2. Best wishes! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Avoid contact/ RX: Genital herpes can easily spread between partners and between the mother and the delivering baby. The risk is greatest if the mom contracts primary genital herpes in the 3rd trimester and thus is not able to transmit protective antibodies to the baby. Avoiding genital/genital or oral/genital contact with an infected partner is key - esp. In later preg. Valtex should be given in 3rd trimester. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Possibly herpes: Genital sores in a virgin could indicate that she had her boyfriend perform oral sex on her. If he carries the herpes simplex virus 1, which typically causes cold sores, he could have infected her with the virus. While it used to be HSV-2 that caused genital herpes, HSV-1 is more frequently seen now as the cause for genital herpes. A blood test will reveal the diagnosis. Or it's from shaving. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Partner has cold sore and sex occurs (no oral-genital contact) is risk of genital herpes? Transfer from hands possible? How long until symptoms occur?
Herpes New Info: The way you are wording this question is almost impossible to interpret. First all sexually active adults must have a blood test to see what their herpes exposure history is. The place of the sores do not count anymore. There is no transmission of herpes from one part of one's body to another. Hsv 1 is very common and hsv 2 i much less common. Get the blood tests and then we can solve this. ...Read more
