Individual case: All of those are good guesses. You will have to ask your doctor. Just because one has CP does not mean a vaginal delivery is out of the question. But in your case all of the things you mentioned would need to be assessed. ...Read more

According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more

Ask your docs: When a woman is pregnant one if the things doctors do each visit is to measure the height of the uterus. This is done by measuring from the pubic bone to top of uterus. The measure in cm equals the number of weeks she is. Generally if the measure differs from # of weeks by more than 3 cm an ultrasound will be done to check. Long waisted women look small. Ask your doc about your measure and concern. ...Read more

My wife, second pregnancy, 26 weeks, has hypothyroidism, like in first pregnancy, doc only found out/gave prescription for med at 25 weeks, isn't too late?

Hopefully not: It depends on the levels of her tsh, t4. Most likely her levels were within normal limits. Your thyroid hormone levels can change during pregnancy so probably they were checked every trimester or every month. Hypothyroidism can affect the fetus' thyroid and cause a syndrome called cretinism. Hopefully her levels have been within the limits all along! ...Read more

I miscarried on 21st sep and it was my first pregnancy doctor said that there is no problem with me and i could get pregnant right away without delay is this ok to try right away?

I miscarried on 21st sep and it was my first pregnancy doctor said that there is no problem with me and i could get pregnant right away without delay is this ok to try right away?

Yes!: Most studies now recommend not waiting to get pregnant after a miscarriage, because women that wait have a harder time to get pregnant again compared to those who do not wait to resume intercourse. My advice: if you plan to get pregnant, resume efforts as soon as you feel ready physically and emotionally (don't postpone it). Take Folic Acid 1-5 mg daily and good luck! ...Read more

I can't lose weight gained with first pregnancy. We eat very healthy and i work out like no tomorrow. Doctor said no to tiyrid issues. What can I do?

Get help: It is difficult to loose weight, especially on your own. You should consider weight watchers, or a local group where you can do it together. I have seen people who were overweight for years finally reach their goals through the encouragement of friends and family in a structure setting. ...Read more

Doctor said I am likely to have blighted ovum though she needs to check on me again. I had my first pregnancy failure last year, same reason. Pls help?

Karyotype.: Getting your karyotype and your sexual partner's karyotype is a good idea if you have had two consecutive blighted ova. This will look for any balanced translocations or other chromosomal problems that may predispose you to this unusual pregnancy failure. Please take Folic Acid 1-5 mg daily, consult an ob/gyn physician and a genetic counselor - and best of luck! ...Read more

I want to have twins in my first pregnancy so what should I do? should I follow some health rules or sex rules or should take treatment from doctor?

Double the pleasure: Well, Congratulations on "doubling your pleasure" with a twin pregnancy. Multiple gestations are also more complicated for OB MD's to provide care and treatment due to a number of possible complications. Find a good OB MD who may also consult with a Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist and please follow their advice to the letter for a safe outcome. ...Read more

Hello. : Hello. That must be tough for you. These fetal losses don't mean that you aren't healthy or that you won't carry a baby to term. Sometimes the embryo or fetus dies because of a genetic abnormality. It doesn't mean that you don't have an healthy gene pool. I am glad that your physician has checked you out and found no health issues that would prevent childbearing. ...Read more
