I took 7 home pregnancy test all positive but doctor test say negative and blood test was negative why?

Please clarify: Perhaps the reason can be known when you tell us honestly why you kept testing at home even though the test told you a positive answer. Something must have clued you into the fact something was not normal. You tell us. ...Read more

Home pregnancy test was positive but blood hCG came back negative. Ob perform a blood test again. Hcg 750 progesterone 21. Why first hCG was negative?

Lab error: Presuming the first blood pregnancy test was close to the second, one of them had to be a lab error, probably the first one that was negative. If there is any question about the health of the pregnancy, your doctor can follow the bhcg level to see if it is rising appropriately and obtain an ultrasound when the level is high enough. For more info www.Askyourgynecologist.Org. ...Read more

Would urine culture & sensitivity test at first antenatal appointment show chlamydia ect?Midwife didn't give me a pap test but took blood and urine.

Maybe: Chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis or other STDs can only be detected if you look for them. Specialized lab material & personnel time is required. The routine prenatal urinalysis or culture looks for regular germs. Urine could be used to detect chlamydia & gonorrhea if they submit it for the extra testing. The blood could be screened for evidence of several germs (syphilis, herpes) ...Read more

Few reasons: There are a few questions to consider. Have you lost weight recently, changed activity level or been under a lot of stress? What was the age your mother/grandmother went through menopause? If you do not have another menstrual cycle in coming month and pregnancy test is negative, I'd go to your internist for further assessment to cause. ...Read more

Home pregnacy test posirive.( first response.) dr. Urine pregnacy test negative. But no period. Last period nov 17, 2013?

Defer to your Doctor: Health tap is not a place to pit our anonymous advice against the professional there in person taking care of you. What did your doctor tell you about these results? Did they offer you a blood test? And as an aside on december 16, 2013, with an lmp of 11/17/2013 it surely seems early to be testing. ...Read more

Is a first response early result pregnancy test more accurate then a dr.S office urine test? My home pregnancy test was pos but doc office was neg!

Not likely.: No test is 100% accurate, unfortunately. I'd suggest waiting a week, repeating the home test, and if it's still positive, going back to your doctor's. If the doctor's office urine test is still negative, your doctor can order a blood test for pregnancy, which is more accurate. ...Read more

Why do some women never test positive on a home pregnancy test?? Not blood test. Followed directions. 10 weeks since sex

Why do some women never test positive on a home pregnancy test?? Not blood test. Followed directions. 10 weeks since sex

Persistent neg uhCG: The reason is unclear. Clearly some forms of the hCG molecule do not respond to the antibodies in the preg test and it gives a negative result, which is clearly a false negative. That being said doesn't mean that your pregnancy is at all abnormal with a + blood test. I wouldn't be concerned over this. ...Read more

Implantation bleed next day positive pregnancy bu first response test then next day negative test by sainsburys still no period?

Implantation bleed next day positive pregnancy bu first response test then next day negative test by sainsburys still no period?

Misinformed?: First a fetus implanting on the wall of the uterus is the size of a speck of dust or smaller. It has no physical or chemical connection to the mother or the mother's blood supply. It would be absolutely physically impossible for a positive pregnancy test in the time frame you describe with implantation. Impossible. A positive test means a pregnancy many days earlier than that or it is a false tes. ...Read more

When should preg test done (blood test)..? L.M.P 24/3/2015

Only if Dr. wants it: Otherwise, a home urine test works just fine. Home pregnancy tests are very accurate and not affected by foods, herbs, common illnesses, sexually transmitted diseases, or medications. A correctly done urine test gives a reliable result 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have happened) or 1 week after missing a period. Home tests are cheap and sold everywhere. ...Read more

HPV-18 and ASC-H positive results led to a LEEP procedure. First pap smear 11 months later resulted in negative HPV test, but ASC-H present. Why?

Too many acronyms : Whenever a test is done somebody has to say what is positive or negative in a result about it. These are all summed up in the sensitivity and specificity of the particular test. If I measure your BP and tell you I measured 139/89 and said was fine because high BP was defined as higher than 140/90 you would probably start doubting my judgment. Whenever you get a test result back ask doc what does i ...Read more

Hello, My wife is 10 weeks pregnant with our first child and, at 8 weeks, she received a pap smear during her first pregnancy visit to her gynecologist. She received a call yesterday from the doctor saying her test came back abnormal and looks to be mild

Don't panic: Pap testing at the first prenatal visit is common. There are precise guidelines about how to manage positive results. The presence of abnormal cervical cells or HPV does not affect the outcome of the pregnancy. A test called a colposcopy may be needed; it is safe to perform during pregnancy. Often mild or minor cell changes can be monitored until after delivery, when they may return to normal. ...Read more

What is a pap test?

Check for cancer.: A pap smear is a test that is used to screen women for cervical cancer. First, the doc will ask you to undress from the waist down and lie on the table with your feet propped up. The doc will then insert a speculum into the vagina, which opens up so the cervix can be visualized. Next, the doc uses a brush to take a small sample of the cells lining the cervix, and the procedure is done. ...Read more

Pap itself==<1 min: Obtaining the actual pap smear itself is brief. Prior to getting it the patient must get [comfortably] positioned in stirrups and the physician must insert and open a speculum in the vagina. Additional specimens for sexually transmitted infections are usually obtained. The exam also involves looking at the tissues of the cervix and vagina out to vulva. The speculum is removed for bimanual exam. ...Read more

After 30, we test every 5 years along with a test for the hpv virus that causes almost all cervical cancers. This is great news! ...Read more

How long does pap test takes about?

One minute: A pap test is done as part of a routine gynecologic exam. The exam takes longer, but once the doctor is doing a vaginal exam the pap portion takes less than a minute, which involves just a gentle scraping of the inside of the cervix. It can sometimes take a few days to get the results however because it needs to be sent to a pathologist, who will read it and then report back. ...Read more

Pelvic exam: A pap is one part of a routine pelvic exam and testing.
