If the loose bowel happens following a firm stool once a week, is this a condition that needs treatment? It feels like nature's way of cleansing.
Stool variation: It's not necessarily a bad thing. Stool consistency can be very dependent on what you eat (fiber, vegetables, etc) and what you drink. As long as there's not blood in the stool, there's no fevers, belly pain, and you're getting colon cancer screening tests at the appropriate intervals, i wouldn't worry about it too much. ...Read more

Well, : Well, you're on the right track with the metamucil. Fiber is great in that it firms up stools that are loose and softens stools that are hard - all to a healthy consistency. Do u want firmer or looser stools for BM not to get stuck in a rectocele? Seems the more fiber and water makes the BM too big around and gets stuck
You want a soft BM: It may have to be slightly loose to accommodate the rectocele. You can help by pushing up on the skin between the anus and the vagina. Another maneuver that helps is inserting 2 or more fingers into the vagina and pushing back toward the spine and rectum to keep the rectocele from getting filled.
