I think i have an ingrown fingernail.. my fingertip has ballooned in size and painful when touched. How can I fix it or take the pain away?

See a doctor

Paronychia
Ingrown nails can certainly be painful. But if it has sudden ballooned in size, you may want to see a doctor as it may be infected, especially if it is red or has pus drainage. This is called paronychia. Ingrown nails can break open the skin and allows bacteria or yeast into the area. See a doctor so they can treat you properly.

Based on the medications that you are taking, I suspect you have diabetic features, thus any non healing blister in a diabetic is concerning for circulatory problems. Seeing your doctor so that he/she can examine your circulation may provide some answers and treatment.

Dr. William Byars answered:

Can an infected fingertip cause illness?

Paronychia vs. felon

Paronychia
The most common infection in the fingertip area is a paronychia, which is at the nail margin on either or both sides. If the infection is deeper, this can form a so-called felon and be very painful, and could possibly endanger the rest of the finger.

I'm a barber so I use my hands frequently my right index fingertip is numb what can be causing this?

Finger numbness

Hands
If you cut hair with your right hand, the scissors is compressing the sensory nerve in the finger. Try a different scissors or try to change your hand position to avoid compressing or rubbing the sides of the affected digit.
