Multiple things: Ask your doctor if you may have raynaud's phenomenon, which turns fingers and toes blue. Also your doctor can check for arthritis and carpal tunnel syndrome, or other causes. I am noticing deep ridges on my fingernails. Is this a symptom of something? I am a 65 year old female.
Hard : Hard to tell without a picture. Depends a bit on the orientation of the ridges (vertical vs. Horizontal). Vertical ridging running the length of the nail is common (genetically) and also typically a normal sign of aging, whereas horizontal ridging is caused by other factors. I would recommend you see a dermatologist for further evaluation. I hope that helps. ...Read more

What can be the cause of numbness and burning sensation of one part of the body which lasted for seconds with no other associated symptoms?
Maybe nerve pressed: A person who gets numbness, tingling, or odd sensations in various parts of his body, is likely stimulating or pressing on the nerve to that part of the body. Pressing on the blood vessels to that part of the body is also possibly a cause, but less likely. The person can see his primary care doctor and show him exactly what happens. The doctor may refer to a neurologist for further evaluation. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Are splinter looking brown lines under fingernails something to worry about? There aren't any other symptoms present.
Trauma vs infection: The most common cause of splinter like hemorrhages seen through the nail in the ail bed, come from trauma. I've had them in the past from tapping my nails on the desk. I had to break the habit. Splinter hemorrhages as signs of infection are more often seen at the base of the nail near the cuticle. Again, the most common cause of these hemorrhages is trauma, even as minor as tapping your nail. ...Read more
