I've noticed my toenails have literally fallen off from the bed without trauma. Also my fingernails are lifting from the bed as well

Then, keep your nails away from soap & water and harsh chemicals as much as possible (wear gloves). Take biotin (one of the b vitamins) 5000 units per day.
