Finger Red And Itchy Under Ring
Friend told me she developed itchy pimple-like red bumps on finger from ring. I tried ring on 3 days ago, now see tiny red itchy bump. What to do?
For past few months recurring rash on ring finger. Starts itchy / burning & red w bumps that when popped have clear liquid. Keeps coming back. Help?
Allergy/irritant: Two possibilities come to mind: (a) soap or detergent got trapped in the ring causing the irritation (b) you have become allergic to the metal in the ring. Stop wearing your ring for a week to see if this helps. The next step would be finding out whether it's the detergent (take ring off when washing) or the ring metal. See allergist/derm to detect which metal you are allergic to for the latter. ...Read more
Is it wedding ring rash if the dry scaly red rash is only on knuckle and on top of the finger not around? Not itchy. Cleaned rings & still came back.
I work in a hospital, lots of hand sani. Two rings on one finger & now have red, raised skin, flaking, & itchy. no rings for a week now. Remedy??
Contact dermatitis: I think the problem is contact dermatitis. Something from the hand sanitizer reacted with the metal on your rings to create an irritative substance. Without seeing pictures, it will be hard to tell. Consider TTYD or using HealthTap Prime. In the mean time, avoid rings, use soap (not alcohol) cleaners, & use moisturizing cream - Lubriderm or similar. Also, wear gloves to protect your skin! Thanks. ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers

Bumps on back of hands and fingers. Itchy sometimes, other times not. Bumps are skin coloured--no redness. The itch is almost a burning sensation.
Dishydrotic eczema?: Eczema on the fingers and hands doesn't have to look like the dry, crackly surface skin texture of eczema elsewhere. Fingers can have itchy flesh-colored bumps, called dishydrotic eczema or dishydrosis. Does 1 blister, size of pen eraser on finger w/ tiny dots in it, no pain no redness but very itchy sound like eczema, fungus or whitlow? Had 4 days.
Blister: kind of hard to tell, did you have any trauma? are you a dentist and do dental exams using your fingers? is there any puss and erythema around the site? if its growing in size, see a practitioner to be evaluated. whatever you do don't pop it - you will likely cause a wound infection worse than you have. ...Read more
