Vitamin d deficiency and fibromyalgia connected?

Vitamin d deficiency and fibromyalgia connected?

In some cases: We don't really know what causes fibromyalgia. Some studies have found that many who have fibromyalgia have vitamin d deficiency, while others have not found this. In some studies taking vit d in those who were deficient improved symptoms. So worth checking d levels but also see a good holistic doc. Many with fibromyalgia are hypothyroid. Many have undiagnosed lyme disease. See comment for more:. ...Read more

Does taking vitamin d supplement causes sleepiness?

Does taking vitamin d supplement causes sleepiness?

NO: Vit. D is remarkably safe & sleepiness is not a known side effect. Side effects are very rare unless one takes toxic doses. I did find some reports of anxiety experienced by some after taking vit. D which is apparently a sign of magnesium deficiency remedied with magnesium. It's possible for someone to be allergic to fillers & binders in supplements so if it makes you sleepy try a different form. ...Read more

Will vitamin d supplement cause constipation?

Dr. Ian Bach Dr. Bach
1 doctor agreed:
Will vitamin d supplement cause constipation?

Yes: Vitamin d has been reported to cause constipation. In your case, there is no blood test to determine if constipation is caused by vitamin d. It would be reasonable to stop the vitamin d for 1-2 weeks to see if the constipation resolves. If it does, you are likely confirming this as a side effect. ...Read more

Is it safe to take Prilosec, glucosamine, msm, chondroiton, chlorophyll, calcium citrate, multi vitamin, and vitamin d together and daily?

Is it safe to take Prilosec, glucosamine, msm, chondroiton, chlorophyll, calcium citrate, multi vitamin, and vitamin d together and daily?

Multiple meds: That is a big load of meds. Some, such as Vitamin D, do not need a prescription or blood test. Over-the counter vitamin D is inexpensive and does not need a prescription. Even better it is already in your milk and you don't really need to buy Vitamin D separately. Do you really need all the others? Look up "NuVal" on the web and see what foods are best for you rather than meds. ...Read more

Remedy vitamin-a , b-12, zinc, vitamin-d3 deficiencies?

Remedy vitamin-a , b-12, zinc, vitamin-d3 deficiencies?

Find cause: I'm going to assume that you were tested by a reputable lab; there are fake "nutrition labs." d3 deficiency is common due to diet and lack of sun exposure. If you are vitamin a and zinc deficient on a reasonably normal non-vegetarian diet, you may have malabsorption. If you are B12 deficient non-vegan, you are likely to be seriously sick & need a proper workup. Get with a dr you rightly trust. ...Read more

Taking 2.5mg bisoprolol but also take various supplements worried about interactions garlic, folic acid, selenium, cod liver, Q10, evening primrose, vit e.

Sups. No Evidence: Supplements widely promoted, big business, but exempted from clinical trials, even need for honesty/accuracy on labels; see DSHEA Act 1994 which exempted all food supplements, thus no reliable data about group, much less individual benefits & downsides. Carvedilol has better track record than bisoprolol (both with ACEI) for heart function, mortality rates; yet both can ? lung bronchospasm, COPD. ...Read more

Could multivitamins correct vitamin deficiency?

Could multivitamins correct vitamin deficiency?

Probably not: If you have had lab tests that say you are deficient you need to take the vitamins that are low. Your doc will advise. Also, over the counter multivitamins are typically very weak. Look on the label to make sure that many of the ingredients are well beyond 100% of the recommended daily allowance and you will have a better brand. Peace and good health. ...Read more

Any interactions?:ashwagandha, magnesium l threonate,taurate,glycinate, fish oil, cdp choline,acetyl l carnitine,alpha lipoic acid, vitamin d,prilosec

Why Supplements?: Since you're 17 years old, I am concerned that you are spending time and money wasting it on the supplements that you listed. While some of the substances are present in a healthy diet, there is actually no reason you should be taking them in the form of a supplement. You should be getting all the vitamin D you need in a healthy diet, and the other things, except Prilosec, are unproven. ...Read more

Is it safe to take glucosamine, chondroitin, msm, vitamin d, calcium citrate, multivitamin, l arginine, l lysine, l ornthinine, Prilosec together?

Is it safe to take glucosamine, chondroitin, msm, vitamin d, calcium citrate, multivitamin, l arginine, l lysine, l ornthinine, Prilosec together?

Should be fine: I don't see any significant problems taking all of these supplements. If you have any side effects, however, it may be a challenge to know which is the culprit. Typically, side effects from these are minimal or not existent. If you are taking the prilosec due to the others causing GI complaints, you may want to reconsider this strategy. ...Read more
