Fibromyalgia And Ambien
See PCP first.: The Percocet is an opiate and the cyclobenzaprine is a muscle relaxant and they are often used together to treat pain. The problem is that both are very addicting if taken on a long term basis so since fibromyalgia is a chronic problem and an alternative treatment that would be better is an antidepressant Cymbalta or savella (milnacipran) and Lyrica or neurontin.See pcp for advice. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Fibromyalgia symptoms making sleep nearly impossible even with ambien (zolpidem) prescribed by rheumotologist?
Fibromyalgia: In my experience it is unusual for fibromyalgia discomfort to be intense enough to interfere with sleep. Does the rheumatologist agree that your discomfort is all related to your fibromyalgia or could there be another process causing it? Of course ambien (zolpidem) is not a Pain reliever and I wonder if pain relievers or antiinflammatories have been prescribed or any other tests performed. ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers

Is taking Xanax (alprazolam) and Valium okay for treating GAD (generalized anxiety disorder) and chronic back pain?
Fibromyalgia: Dear butterfly78765, nortriptyline is an older tricyclic antidepressants which has cardiac and anticholinergic side effects. It would be best to optimize one medication, either one would be fine, Cymbalta (duloxetine) would be preferred due to lesser side effects, major one being 10% patients can get high blood pressure. The answer is purely for educational purposes, please contact your md. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I take Ultram for fibro, Zoloft and Xanax (alprazolam) for panic anxiety disorder, and a Ambien at night for sleep is this a safe combo?
Xanax (alprazolam): I don't really recommend short acting benzos like xanax (alprazolam) for panic, they are associated with inter-dose withdrawal, faster tolerance and gradual elevation of baseline anxiety , discuss the issue with your psychiatrist, otherwise the combination is ok. ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers

Take Klonopin (clonazepam) for anxiety and sleep,Fetzima for depression, what's an alternative for Klonopin (clonazepam) that I can use,take1mg 1am,1noon,2 bed?
Many alternatives: There are many alternatives, but it depends on why you're looking for an alternative. Is Klonopin (clonazepam) not working? Perhaps the dose in wrong. Are you looking to get off of benzodiazepines (the drug class that Klonopin (clonazepam) is in) altogether? If so, then your doctor should slowly titrate you off the medication (10-25% weekly or biweekly, depending on how long you've been taking) while initiating another med ...Read more
