Is it weird that I eat raisin brand or fiber bars everynight in order to go poo in the morning? I cant go without it and im only 19. Is this bad?
Fiber is good 4 you: Fiber (water soluble & water insoluble) provides health benefits. Fiber accelerates how quickly food transits through the gut. Fiber adds bulk to stool & improves bowel regularity. Fiber can be used as an adjunct to weight loss by filling you up without excess calories, & in so doing restricting fat intake. Consider that your diet throughout the day may be too low in fiber otherwise. ...Read more

I was told fiber cereals are the cause for all the bloating but it also helps me poo. So its kinda contradicting. What else can I eat before bed?
Fiber cereals: Yes, fiber is necessary for the diet, but in some people can produce excess bloating. The key is to find a particular cereal or product that your body tolerates. This may involve some trial and error. You might try eating your cereal in yogurt rather than milk, in case you are lactose intolerant. Good luck. ...Read more
Last thursday I have a difficulty in pooping, I have the urge of wanting to poop but I cannot poop, the poop was 3 inches, brown, eat lots of fiber?
Make sure to hydrate: If you're feeling constipated, or having difficulty pooping, make sure that you're also hydrating well, meaning drinking enough liquids. Also, make sure to get some exercise in, as this increases the motility or movement of the intestines and bowels. This will also help you poop better. Also make sure to get the right type of fiber, like greens, vegetables, fruits, and other natural foods. ...Read more

Hi I am taking Metamucil and have noticed white string like things in my stool. Can this be from the fiber? I'm a def hypochondriac and have diagnosed myself with worms please help.
Depends: Metamucil's main ingredient is psyllium husk, a natural plant fiber that is a source of soluble and insoluble fiber. The soluble fiber creates a viscous gel as it travels through the GI tract. The insoluble fiber moves through intact. So hopefully the white worms are just husk remnants. If not go see your Doctor for stool cultures Ova and parasites x 3. ...Read more
Do I need fiber to poop? Just realized I have not had any today and afraid I am going to be constipated.
Enough fiber in a normal diet and extra fiber is really not indicated except in certain kinds of constipation!
MAINTAINING a good fluid intake is more important and the natural fiber in your diet should be enough!!!
In any case missing fiber for one day (eg FASTING) will NOT by itself stop your bowel movements!
Hope this helps!

If I don't poop every day, but I don't struggle when I do, do I have higher chance for colon ca? I also don't eat much fiber, but drink 8-10c water.
Probably OK: Low fiber diet and/or constipation (often found together) can increase risk of colon ca. If stool ok, not everyone has 1+ bm/day. Can always do "rough count" of the roughage (=fiber) in your diet to see if about 20-30grams/day [visit: http://www. Nutritionquest. Com/wellness/free-assessment-tools-for-individuals/fruit-vegetable-fiber-screener/ ] most of us need more in general. Water is good! ...Read more
I have been taking colace (docusate sodium) and fiber for 2 days and nothing. Also, it feels like something is trying to rip my anus apart when I try to poop. Help!
Above + below: Colace (docusate sodium) and fiber both take 1-3 days to see movement, but must also work against the concrete down further (source of pain). You need to try either glycerin suppositories or fleets enema from below to help with passage of the 'boulder' down there, then once moving, maintain a high-er fiber diet to reduce chance of recurrence. Hemorrhoidectomy 9 days ago. Is it possible after bm, some poop is getting stuck in anal canal causing pain? What to do? (already do fiber/water)
Not uncommon. ..: The pressue you r feeling could be the inflammation from surgery and not necessarily stool. Apply an ice pack to help with the pain. Keep taking stool softener, fiber supplements and drink a lot of fluids. You can try an enema but lubricate it well and be very gentle putting it in. If you had 3 hemms removed then recovery will be longer. If still unable to go contact your surgeon. ...Read more
Healthy 5yro, very constipated, no bowel for wk. Thrown up twice. Cycle: 5 7 days, huge poop, repeat. Dangerous? Besides fiber, what should we do? Er?
Common at this age: Voluntary stool retention is common at this age, results in gut distension, increases mucus secretion, & makes stools harder & more dessicated which in turn may result in painful stooling. Child then squeezes more to avoid pain, ultimately passing sodacan size stools that plug cammode.
