See ENT: If you have had a head injury recently, discharge from one side of the nose may indicate a breakage leading to cerebrospinal fluid leak- a potentially very dangerous problem untreated. Viral syndrome: This is likely a upper respiratory viral infection in evolution. Sore throat (pharyngitis) with fever, followed by cough and other flu like symptoms. Best treatment is rest, plenty of fluids, tylenol (acetaminophen) or Ibuprofen for aches and fever. A decongestant and cough suppressant may be helpful when these symptoms arise. Needs evaluation: Chills could be the start of a fever, since that's how your brain makes you get warm-- either by shivering and/or piling on the blankets. Fevers and abdominal pain make me pay attention as a doctor- you could have an intraabdominal infection. I would say go to an Urgent care center or ER where you can get an exam, blood work and possibly imaging to figure out what's going on. Hope u feel better. ...Read more
6 year old daughter fever 102 with abdominal pain and back ache. pain is controlled but not completely with pain reliever Motrin and Tylenol (acetaminophen).
Many thoughts: A 4 year old with fever and headache can have a mild illness or a severe illness. I first think of strep throat or viral sore throat. Then i think of pneumonia, viral infection, and then the big ones, meningitis and such. I would like to know if s/he is better after some Ibuprofen or acetamenophen? Rash? Sore throat? The spectrum: Of retro-orbital pain on eye movement can range from the benign to the emergent. Fever would indicate either infection or inflammation. Coupled with eye pain on movement you could have something as non-emergent as sinus infection with peri-orbital inflammation to viral/bacterial induced retro-orbital process.
