Fever Over 100 4 Degrees F For 5 Days
My five year old daughter has had a cough and fever for four days now, but only at night time. Should she a physician or allow to run it's course?
I have had a 100.0 fever for four days now, my throat is swollen, and it extremely hurts to swallow, even after taking ibuprofen. There is significant white exudate on both tonsils. I've been having night sweats for 11 days. ?

At this stage it is very likely a bacterial infection, with the night sweats possibly an indication for hospital visit due to higher probability of septicemia (bacterial infection of the blood). I would not wait, go to the ED to get proper care. ...Read more
Define fever: The normal variation in temperature follows a predictable pattern.Usually it is at its lowest around 4-6am and its highest at 4-6pm. (about a degree below or above average)if the kid's temp does not exceed 100, i wouldn't consider it fever. If it is >102 but present only in the afternoon with no other symptoms, it is likely something minor (viral) that should end in a day or two.If worried get seen. ...Read more

Please have her re- evaluated by pediatrician. She could very well just have a viral infection, then do supportive treatment and give the right dose of tylenol or Motrin alternating every fours and hydrate her. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

My daughter is 13 she was diagnosed with a sinus infection was prescribed amoxicillin she has taken it for five days and she's worse 100.0 fever.
Call in tomorrow: It sounds like your daughter may have a resistant germ and not be responsive to the medication. I would contact the physician who examined her to consider the possibility and make other treatment plans. There is also the possibility of a co-existing problem.
