Please find cause: Crocin is a fever reducer. It may be used.
This is not a drug we use in the US
It is more important to determine the cause of the fever.

My daughter is 2 yrs old, she has 102 fever .how much meftal p shuld be given with crocin syrup .also in how much hours repeat the medicine?

ConsultYourPediatric: Meftal-P is NOT recommended in children under the age of 15 yrs. Crocin syrup depends on which formulation you have. Check the packaging material or label and follow the directions based on your child's weight or age. If you don't have access to this information then it's best to take your child to their physician before administering medications if you are not sure of the dosage. ...Read more

No to meftal: Meftal is not available in the US, but from everything that I have read on-line including articles published from NIH states that Meftal is NOT recommended in children. If the fever is high and your child is lethargic, not drinking etc then take him to a doctor. If he's otherwise doing ok then it's okay to just watch.Remember fever is an immune response to fight infection. It's a good to a point ...Read more

Dengue fever what should be the platelates count to maintain to platelates ?

It is safe over 20K: There is risk of bleeding if platelets drop below 10, 000. So we generally do not have to do any platelet transfusion unless the counts come down to below 20, 000. Platelets may have to be transfused every 3 to 5 days if they keep dropping down...So they need to be rechecked daily once they drop to 30, 000/mm3. ...Read more

May be viral: Continued fever despite antibiotics may suggest that the symptoms are due to a virus. Other concerns would be a more significant lung infection such as empyema or a pleural effusion (fluid around the lung). Either way, this should be discussed with the baby's doctor. ...Read more

Is it bad if after giving a toddler ib profin his fever is only taken down to 99.5 and not normal. Over an hour has passed sincemed. Pediatricians?

Depends: The big question is why does your toddler have the fever. Various ailments cause fever to include but not limited to viral and bacterial causes. If viral, time usually is only cure. Tylenol (acetaminophen) can be alternated with Motrin when not enough by themselves; however it treats the symptoms and parents, not the ailment. If fever persists or worsens or associated with pain, your child needs to be seen. ...Read more

Cough 411: If no audible wheezing, the cough is dry without mucus production, and he still has no fever, his cough could simply be remnant of his previous cold or post nasal drip. She age 12 years & from 2 days she started suffering from fever, varies b/w 38°&39°.There's no symptoms&I'm just giving her Paracetamol. Is this enough?

Needs evaluation: I treat fevers seriously - and I would strongly recommend you get professional help from a doctor. There are many causes for fever, but in a child, I am always extra careful. Paracetamol will change the appearance of the fever (how high it goes) and possibly mask other symptoms (like headache, joint pains). It's important to get more history on your child's case. Please take action now. ...Read more

My 9 yeear old son has had a fevedr since yesterday 101 and 100.4, we have been giving him medicine to reduce the fever and it has not helped. ?

Fever is ok: Fevers are ok and are not dangerous to children. Its ok to treat the discomfort (chills, aches, etc) from a fever with tylenol (acetaminophen) or Motrin but you do not need to treat the fever itself. Fever is actually one of body's mechanisms for fighting off the infection. ...Read more

My 5yr old has a constant 102 fever since yesterday. This morning it peaked to 104 and now 102. Been giving him Motrin, should I take him to ER?

Maybe: The fever in and of itself is not a cause for concern. You can manage the fever by alternating ibuprofen and acetaminophen every 2-3 hours and by tepid baths. The question is what are his other symptoms? If he is having respiratory distress (breathing hard, heavy or fast), appearing lethargic or in pain, then an immediate trip to the ER is necessary. ...Read more

3 viruses conf by cult. Fever. Hov @ 101. Day 4. Pulmicort caused fever. Dr wants to keep giving it. Should he be hospitalized? Help please.

Depends: Whether one should be hospitalized or not depends on the severity of the asthma. Although Pulmicort is not expected to cause a fever, there many other inhaled steroids available and thus it does no harm to just switch it to something else including inhaled steroid. Consider seeing a pediatric allergist . ...Read more

Waste of effort: I don't consider 100 a fever and certainly not enough to warrant any treatment. The kid may be winy and pissed that his shot hurt and is sore for a few days but I would ignore this and concentrate on keeping the kid distracted. The effect will wear off over time.If he does develop a real fever it wouldn't have anything to do with this shot, but may reflect an exposure to a new illness. ...Read more

Exposed to scarlet fever, how long before symptoms will show? My 1 year old is in the stage of giving kisses. She has been kissing both her daddy and i on the mouth frequently and yesterday was diagnosed with scarlet fever. How long is the incubation p

Scarlet : Scarlet fever is caused by group a streptoccoccus - the same bacteria that causes strep throat. The symptoms usually start 1-2 days after infection and include sore throat, fever, sand papery red rash, abdominal pain, muscle aches, headache, vomiting, swollen red tongue and/or bright red color in the creases of the underarm or groin.

With proper antibiotic treatment, the symptoms typically improve quickly (2-3 days) though the rash can last for a few weeks.

Long term complications are extremely rare with treatment. The most concerning complication is acute rheumatic fever which occurs around 20 days after the start of infection if the patient is not treated with antibiotics. This can cause permanent heart valve damage. Other rare complications of untreated strep are bone or joint problems, kidney problems, inflammation of a gland, ear infection, meningitis, pneumonia, or sinusitis. ...Read more

Fever.: Cure the underlying illness. Fever is just a symptom. It does not necessarily need to be treated. If he is miserable with his fever you can use an anti inflammatory med or Acetaminophen or a combination of both ( as you are doing) with the goal of making him feel better. If fever is due to a virus there is generally nothing but tincture of time to break the fever. ...Read more
