Fever During Pregnancy Second Trimester
What is cause: Fever in and of itself is not a problem to your infant. It will in no way cause problems with blood flow or placental function. When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more
Safe in pregnancy: Sexual intercourse and orgasms are generally safe in all three trimesters of pregnancy. There are a few exceptions to this such as ruptured membranes or a bleeding placenta previa. But these situations are not common. If everything is going well, it is a good time to be intimate. There will be a lot less time after the baby is born! Best wishes. ...Read more

If a female tennis athlete just learn she is pregnant. When does she has to stop training druing pregnancy? Is it during the 2nd trimester?
Around 20 weeks: There is no one right answer to this question. A general approach for an athlete who has been training vigorously (including high-intensity workouts) is to continue training as able through the first half of pregnancy, and during the second half of pregnancy to scale things back to a "maintenance" mode. All of this depends also on the individual mother, number of fetuses, and pregnancy course. ...Read more

Is terconazole safe to use during 2nd trimester of pregnancy? It's labeled in category c, which scares me.
Probably: I'm sorry I can't be more definite, but the second trimester is a relatively safe time to take any medication and there a no known issue with this class of medication. Category C simply means there is very little information available, either good or bad. If you have a proven yeast infection and symptoms are severe, it is a reasonable medication. ...Read more

Probably above 102: Although prolonged/repeated exposure to high ambient temperatures of saunas, jacuzzis during the first weeks of pregnancy can increase the risk of some birth defects, it is not clear if fevers "impact on a baby development" because of the high temperature or because of the cause of the fever which can be viral or bacterial infections or other metabolic disorders. I had 104 fever for a few hour during the 4th week of my pregnancy. Now I'm in my 18th week of pregnancy. I'm worried that has my fever caused harm to my baby?
Most likely not: I know the media are full of the danish study that pregnant women who reported having the 'flu had twice as many children with autism; women who reported having fever for > a week had 3x as many, & women who required antibiotics had a slight increase.. However, these were self-reports by phone. While it's worth getting a flu shot, no harm was done by short-term illnesses. See www. Aap. Org. ...Read more

Probably: Early in pregnancy babies will generally miscarry or be fine. Not all babies will have congenital rubella and the fact you didn't get sick and have good igg if a good sign; the igm is likely a "red herring", it isn't part of the usual screening anyway, just the igg; good luck, it should be fine. ...Read more
