Likely viral illness: Most frequent infections encounter by human are viral and very few have specific treatments--herpes, hiv, hepatitis b/c, and maybe cytomegalovirus--the vast majority/remainder of illnesses cannot be treated, just treating the symptoms. Fever/body aches are often relieved by motrin/tylenol etc...

Any gas appliances?: It could be the flu or many other kinds of infection however since the symptoms began right after moving to a new house the possiblity of carbon monoxide poisoning should be considered.
Do you get better when you leave the house? Does anyone else in the house feels sick also? Does the house have gas heat or other appliances?

Doubt shunt: If it came on all of a sudden, it's probalbly not due to your shunt. You are sick. You may have the flue. See a doctor to have them check you out. Specially if you didn't have the flu shot. ...Read more
